Dental Hygienist Needed in San Antonio, TX
W Dental Group has an opening for a full time Dental Hygienist at our Culebra Road office (7614 Culebra Rd STE 103). The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:30am to 5pm. Weekends off. That's it.
What You'd Be Doing
- Screening patients and taking medical histories
- Performing dental hygiene procedures based on dentist recommendations
- Educating patients on their oral health and promoting lifelong dental care
- Using tools like Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, and digital x rays
- Documenting everything in the electronic medical record system
- Preventative care and ongoing maintenance of patients' dental health
- Any other clinical duties the office or doctor requires
What You Need to Have
A current Texas dental hygienist license plus either an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where that degree is required). CPR certification is also mandatory.
You should have solid working knowledge of dentistry generally ; things like procedures, patient screening, and how to properly document visits.
Experience That Helps (But Not Required)
New graduates are welcome here. There's plenty of mentorship available if you're just starting out. What matters more than years of experience is being open minded, outgoing, and willing to learn every day.
If you've used Velscope or Diagnodent before, great. Digital x rays? Even better. But none of that is a dealbreaker ; we can train the right person.
The Physical Part of the Job
- Sitting or standing for prolonged stretches throughout the day
- Able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds sometimes
A TB test is required before starting (standard for any dental office role). The test will be set up during pre employment ; we'll walk you through it.
