Banquet Cook

Aramark·San Antonio, TX

About This Role

What you'll be doing as a Banquet Cook in San Antonio, TX

This isn't a typical cook role. You're the person who makes events happen ; weddings, corporate dinners, conferences, you name it. You'll work with the Catering Services Manager to plan and execute events from start to finish. That means you're not just cooking; you're problem solving, leading a team, and making sure every plate that goes out looks exactly right.

Your days will mix hands on kitchen work with real leadership. You'll help clients figure out what works for their event, then make sure the kitchen delivers. You'll oversee the setup, the food prep, and the final presentation. You'll train the catering staff on standards and make sure everyone knows what they're doing before the first guest arrives.

Finances are part of it too. You'll track revenue, expenses, and receivables related to catering. You'll help hit food and labor targets. And you'll do all the scheduling, recruiting, and team development that comes with running events.

  • Develop catering solutions that actually fit what the client needs
  • Build real relationships with clients and customers
  • Plan and carry out events with consistent quality
  • Facilitate food delivery and event setup based on banquet event orders
  • Help clients plan special events and come up with creative solutions

  • Deliver on food and labor targets
  • Execute catering events of all sizes ; including staffing and management
  • Accurately report all catering revenue, expenses, and receivables
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop team members
  • Follow all food, occupational, and environmental safety policies

What you need to bring

You don't have to have it all figured out ; but you need to have real experience. At least 2 years in a similar role, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. If you've managed or supervised before, that's a strong plus.

  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Management or supervisory experience is preferred
  • Previous experience in events, hospitality, or catering is preferred
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Available to work event based hours ; nights and weekends will happen
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb.
