This is a regional flatbed driving position out of Sacramento, CA. You'll be running predictable routes on familiar lanes, which means you're home most weekends. It's designed for consistency.
The earning potential here is strong. Drivers can make up to $86,000 a year. Your base pay starts at 64 cents per mile. On top of that, you can earn up to an extra 17 cents per mile in accessorial pay depending on the load. And from your very first day, you start building loyalty pay, which can add up to another 6 cents per mile.
Flatbed work comes with its own challenges, and they pay for that too. You can get up to $100 in tarp pay per load.
What you'll do
- Operate a late model Kenworth truck with a 12 speed auto shift transmission.
- Haul flatbed freight on regional routes across the Western U.S.
- Secure and tarp loads as required.
- Maintain all necessary logs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch.
The stuff you need
- A valid Class A CDL license.
- At least six months of recent regional or OTR driving experience.
- You must be 23 years of age or older.
- Flatbed experience is a definite plus, but if you're solid otherwise, they're willing to train you on it.
