What this job is
This is a Team Lead role on a Workers Compensation claims team. You’ll supervise a small group of adjusters while still handling your own caseload. You’ll coach, hire, train, and keep the team performing at a high level. The role is fully remote and open to candidates in Sacramento, CA.
What you’ll actually do day to day
- Supervise a small Workers Compensation team and make sure they’re hitting their marks.
- Carry your own individual caseload and deliver high quality, efficient service.
- Help hire and train new adjusters ; you’ll be building the team’s culture from the ground up.
- Manage workloads across the team and keep motivation up, even when things get busy.
- Use Gallagher’s technology tools to improve how your team works and the quality they produce.
- Talk with clients, carriers, and brokers in a professional, positive, and proactive way.
- Juggle multiple competing priorities at once and spot coaching opportunities to help your team grow.
What you need to bring
- At least 10 years of related claims experience.
- Adjusting experience handling California jurisdiction ; that’s non negotiable.
- An active California Workers Compensation adjuster license. A SIP designation is optional but nice to have.
- Prior management or leadership experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of all the functions that come with managing team members.
- High school diploma is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- You need to be appropriately licensed and certified in every state where you’ll handle claims.
