About This Role

This is a National Accounts role for Sentry. You'd be the Territory Executive, which means you're the point person for brokers and agents across North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, and Tennessee.

What you'd do

You'll build relationships with brokers in that territory to generate new business. The core of the job is selling Workers Compensation insurance to large commercial clients, what we call loss sensitive casualty business for National Accounts.

  • Solicit new accounts through selected brokers or by responding to client inquiries.
  • Your day to day involves working closely with our Underwriting team to evaluate risks and put together proposals.
  • You'll also collaborate with Loss Control and Claims to figure out what services an account needs.
  • Once you have an account, you're their primary contact. You'll manage that relationship alongside their broker.
  • A big part of the job is presenting proposals. You'll explain why Sentry is the right choice.
  • You need to keep our CRM, Microsoft Dynamics, updated. It's how we track everything.

The specifics we need

A Bachelor's degree is required. If you don't have the degree, we need equivalent work experience specifically with National Accounts Workers Compensation Casualty business.

  • We're looking for 5 to 8 years of experience with an insurance carrier, a commercial agency, or a brokerage.
  • Experience in sales and underwriting for large Risk Management accounts is a big plus.
  • Any background building relationships with brokers or agents is preferred.
  • The role requires extensive travel; you should expect to be on the road 5 to 7 nights each month. A valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle report are non negotiable.
  • You must live within the sales territory (NC, SC, WV, VA, TN) or near our home office in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
