Chippenham Hospital needs an Ultrasound Technologist for the Chesterfield FSER. This is a role where you'll work with a solid team, and the hospital backs its people in a real way ; HCA Healthcare has committed up to $300 million in programs to support employees over three years. What you'll actually do

  • Get quality ultrasound images of patients. Follow established scanning protocols and adjust them when needed ; you have the judgment to know when.
  • Manage all ultrasound equipment and recognize significant diagnostic information.
  • Use independent judgment and decision making in complex situations involving diagnostic ultrasound administration.
  • Do all necessary computer operations. That means Meditech and PACS.
  • Make sure proper charges are entered and referring physician orders get verified.
  • Treat patients professionally and courteously. Prep exam rooms, keep inventory of supplies, and maintain a clean, neat workspace.
  • Assist the radiology nurse or radiologist with administering medications, performing biopsies, and any patient care needed.
  • Review each exam for technical accuracy ; technical quality, anatomical positioning, that sort of thing ; and complete the verification process in PACS.
  • Help the Facility System Administrator and Ultrasound Supervisor with PACS cleanup: unarchived images, unspecifieds, and anything else that needs tidying up.
  • Complete and maintain your educational requirements. Keep patient and employee info strictly confidential, per policy.

What you need

  • A Vocational School Graduate or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or be a Registered Radiographer (ARRT).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, obtained within 30 days of your start date.
