MRI Technologist

Chippenham Hospital·Richmond, VA

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this MRI Tech role at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA. We need someone who knows their stuff and genuinely cares about the work. It's a technical job, but it's really about people.

What you'll be doing

Your main focus is getting quality images for every patient. That means running the MRI equipment safely and screening everyone thoroughly before they go near the magnet.

  • You're prepping patients, collecting their information, and making sure they're comfortable.
  • Administering contrast media when it's needed for a study.
  • Every image gets checked for technical accuracy and correct anatomical orientation before it moves on.
  • Keeping the department clean, stocked, and organized is part of the deal. That includes cleaning the magnet bore to ensure patient safety.
  • You'll handle all the necessary computer operations for the systems we use.
  • Participating in our Quality Assurance program when asked.
  • And you'll stay on top of your educational requirements to keep your skills sharp.

The essentials you need

A few non negotiables here. You've got to graduate from an accredited vocational school program first.

  • You need one of these registries: ARRT certification in MRI (ARRT MR), ARRT certification in Radiography (ARRT R), or certification from the American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT). Here's the thing; you have up to one year after your start date to get it if you don't have it already.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is also required. You'll have 30 days from your start date to get that sorted if you aren't already certified.

The package

Chippenham Hospital backs up its team. The benefits are a big part of that, designed to support you now and later.

  • Health coverage includes medical, prescription drugs, dental, vision, behavioral health, and even telemedicine services.
  • There's wellbeing support with free counseling and referral services.
  • Time away from work covers paid time off, paid family leave, and disability coverage for both short term and long term needs.
  • Saving for retirement? The 401(k) plan has a 100% match on 3% to 9% of your pay, depending on how long you've been here. There's also an Employee Stock Purchase Plan and financial counseling.
  • They help with education through tuition assistance, student loan support, and certification reimbursement. Dependent scholarships are available too.
  • The list goes on: benefits for fertility treatments and adoption, life insurance, extra health protection plans, even auto and home insurance discounts. Legal counseling and identity theft protection are included as well.
