The Role

Johnston Willis Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit in Richmond, VA. This is a PRN position, which means you'll have flexibility while still being part of a team that delivers real, hands on care to mothers and newborns. Our unit has 24 suites, and you'll work alongside obstetricians, perinatologists, anesthesiologists, IBCLC lactation consultants, OB techs, and patient care staff. You'll play a central role in guiding a mother through her labor and delivery stay, providing patient centered nursing care and helping educate both the patient and her family.

Every shift, you'll monitor and record patient conditions, document everything in computerized systems, and keep the communication lines open with the whole care team. You'll also be expected to maintain cultural awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, coworkers, and other customers. It's a supportive, teamwork oriented obstetrics environment, and you'll be an essential part of it.

What You'll Need

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN is preferred but not required)
• Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia, or a Current Multistate Compact License
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting
• 1 year of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery is preferred
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification ; you'll need this within 30 days of your start date
