What You'll Be Doing

You're the RN responsible for the clinical management of your patient from start to finish. That means you're operating the diagnostic imaging system during procedures, documenting everything thoroughly with our tools, and making sure your work area is stocked and clean after each case.

  • You'll participate in quality management activities and understand all our hospital and departmental policies inside and out.
  • Communication is huge here; you need to demonstrate effective skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and other staff to ensure everyone's satisfaction.
  • There's a leadership component. You'll guide others through role modeling, coaching, or mentoring. This could mean designing orientation modules or being the primary preceptor for senior nursing students.
  • You'll provide evaluation and direction on material resources and equipment, working with other departments on vendor feedback.
  • The role includes participating in a unit on call schedule.
  • A specific task: you'll take the lead role in monitoring the Pharmacy Accudose Narcotic Inventory counts in all the procedure rooms.

What You Need to Bring

The requirements are specific because the work is specialized. We need someone who can hit the ground running.

  • First off, you must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. A BSN is preferred.
  • You need a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or hold a compact license that covers Virginia.
  • For experience: two years minimum in a Cath Lab within a high volume unit is required. You also need successful completion of a critical care course class.
  • Certifications are non negotiable but we give you a window to get them. You must obtain both Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of your employment start date.
