Cashier

What you'll do

This isn't just a cashier gig ; it's the kind of job where being good with people matters as much as being good with numbers. You'll work the register, handle cash and credit card transactions, and keep the whole thing running smooth from open to close.

• Run the POS system accurately for every transaction.
• Greet customers, help them find what they need, and stay a step ahead when they have questions.
• Count your drawer, balance it out, fill out the slip, and make deposits at the end of your shift.
• Follow Aramark's cash handling rules exactly ; no shortcuts.
• Know the merchandise well enough to answer questions and ring things up right.
• Handle opening and closing duties based on when that location is open for business.
• Keep your work area clean and sanitary during service and after you clock out.
• Stock product throughout your shift so nothing runs low on customers.
• Follow every safety policy and procedure without exception.

What you'll need

• A bit of customer service experience helps (it's preferred).
• Cah handling experience is also preferred, but not a dealbreaker if you're quick to learn.
• Basic math and counting skills are required ; no way around that one.
• You've gotta be able to work alone with limited supervision sometimes.
• The location may require completing Food Handler training or Alcohol Service training before you start. They'll let you know which one applies in Richmond, VA.

The physical stuff

This role has real physical demands. Think lifting, bending, pushing, pulling ; plus lots of walking and standing for extended periods. You might also need to wear a uniform or use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the job.
