Mobile Developer

Reno, NV

About This Role

Job Overview

This Mobile Developer role offers a real chance to build apps people actually use every day. You'll be crafting clean, responsive mobile interfaces and working on the backend logic that keeps everything running smoothly. The work is hands on and the expectations are clear ; you ship features, fix bugs, and collaborate with designers who respect your input. Reno, NV has a growing tech scene, and this position puts you right in the middle of it.

Duties & Responsibilities / JobXi / Reno, NV

  • Design and implement native or cross platform mobile applications from scratch. You're not just maintaining legacy code ; you're building new features.
  • Work closely with product managers to translate vague ideas into functional, user friendly screens. They'll give you requirements; you'll figure out what actually works.
  • Write unit tests and participate in code reviews. No one's perfect, but we catch issues before they hit production.
  • Optimize app performance for different devices and operating systems. You'll deal with memory management, battery drain, and loading times.
  • Troubleshoot production issues as they arise. Sometimes that means late night debugging, but mostly it's about proactive monitoring.
  • Integrate third party APIs and services ; payment gateways, mapping tools, push notifications, whatever the product needs.

Requirements / JobXi / Reno, NV

You need at least two years of professional mobile development experience. Proficiency in either Swift (iOS) or Kotlin (Android) is non negotiable. Cross platform experience with Flutter or React Native is a strong plus. A degree in computer science or a related field helps, but solid portfolios often speak louder than diplomas. You should be comfortable with version control (Git), RESTful APIs, and app store submission processes. Most importantly, you're someone who can explain why you chose one architecture pattern over another ; and defend that choice.

What It's Like in This Role / JobXi / Reno, NV

You'll work in small, focused teams where every developer has a voice. The tools are modern ; Jira for tracking, Slack for chat, and whatever IDE you prefer. Sprints run two weeks, and stand ups are short. Some days you'll be deep in code with headphones on; other days you'll be whiteboarding solutions with the product team. The workload is steady but not crushing ; nobody expects you to work weekends regularly. You're trusted to manage your time, as long as features ship on schedule.

Why You'll Like This Opportunity

You get to pick the tech stack and influence product decisions from day one. There's room to grow into a senior role or pivot into architecture if that's where your interests lie. Many employers in Reno, NV offer flexible hours or hybrid arrangements, so you're not stuck in a rigid 9 to 5. You'll also build a portfolio of apps that actually launch ; projects don't get shelved here.

Full time is the standard, but some positions offer part time or contract options. Remote work is common for this role, though occasional onsite meetings in Reno, NV might be required. Typical hours fall between 8 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility on start times.
