Route Driver

Got a part time security driving gig in Raleigh, NC. It's overnight and evening shifts, Wednesday through Saturday. The pay is $22.26 an hour.

What you'd be doing

You're the person on patrol at a government site. You'll drive around the property, keeping an eye on things. Your main job is to be a visible presence to help prevent problems before they start.

• Patrol buildings, grounds, parking lots, and the perimeter in your vehicle or on foot.
• Check access points, verify IDs, and keep track of who's coming and going.
• If something happens; a disturbance or an emergency; you respond. You need to stay calm and handle it by the book, which sometimes means using your armed training.
• Write clear reports about your shift, any incidents, or anything unusual you see.
• You're also there to help; solid communication and customer service are part of the deal.

What you need to bring

The client has some non negotiable boxes you've gotta check. Here they are:

• You must be at least 21 years old.
• A high school diploma or GED is required; you'll need to show proof.
• A valid driver's license that meets company policy for drivers.
• You need one of these: an honorable military discharge (DD214), an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• A guard card is nice to have but not mandatory upfront; we can talk about getting it if you don't have one.

And just so we're clear: everyone gets a background check and a drug screen as part of the hiring process. You'll also go through our security training once you're on board.

The schedule & details

This is a part time position. Your weekly hours look like this:

• Wednesday: Midnight to 7:00 AM
• Thursday: Midnight to 7:00 AM
• Friday: 5:00 PM to Midnight
• Saturday: 5:00 PM to Midnight
