The work is consultative and personal; you're there to provide clarity and build long term trust.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct in depth financial reviews with new and existing clients to assess their complete picture.
- Develop and present tailored financial plans that address goals around wealth accumulation, protection, and distribution.
- Recommend specific investment products and insurance solutions, explaining the rationale behind each suggestion.
- Monitor client portfolios and proactively schedule check ins to adjust plans as life circumstances change.
- Maintain rigorous compliance documentation for all client interactions and recommendations.
Requirements
- A Series 7 license is required; a Series 66 or 65/63 combo is strongly preferred.
- At least three years of face to face financial advisory or sales experience.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
- The mental stamina to analyze complex financial data while also listening intently to client concerns.
- You need to be self motivated. Much of your day involves independently managing your pipeline and follow ups.
What It's Like In This Role
You'll typically operate from a professional office setting in Raleigh, NC, though local travel for client meetings happens. The team atmosphere varies by employer but generally mixes collaboration with autonomy; you might share strategies with peers but run your own book. Expect to use a suite of tools: CRM platforms like Salesforce, financial planning software (e.g., MoneyGuidePro), and proprietary trading platforms. Your schedule revolves around client availability, so some evenings are part of the rhythm.
Why You'll Like This Opportunity
The role offers real control over your earnings potential based on your performance. There's significant variety in the clients you meet and the puzzles you solve for them. Different employers on our platform offer distinct paths for growth, whether into leadership or towards specializing in a niche like estate planning. You're constantly learning about new regulations and market shifts, so it never gets stale.
