About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this SLP role at Holliswood Center in Queens, NY. I'm looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to join the team there part time. It's a skilled nursing facility, and the work is all about helping residents get back on track.
What you'd be doing
You'd handle evaluations and exams to diagnose residents and put their treatment plans together. A big part of the job is watching their progress closely so you can adjust those plans as needed.
- You're documenting everything from the initial eval through treatment, progress notes, and discharge.
- Observing and assessing progress is key, and you'll need to prepare detailed reports on it.
- Keeping resident information confidential is non negotiable.
- The role means making sure everything stays compliant with the relevant laws and standards.
- You'll be working with a healthcare team, so maintaining a good, cooperative relationship with everyone is part of the deal.
The background we need
First thing: you need to be a graduate from an accredited SLP program. You also must have your current New York State SLP license. If you're a new grad actively working toward getting that license, we're willing to hire and train you.
- Your practice has to be current and evidence based, consistent with ASHA standards.
- The team at Holliswood is experienced, and they're committed to helping patients regain independence. They want someone who fits that mindset.
A few things we provide
The compensation is highly competitive; ask me about it. You get weekly paychecks, which is nice. The schedule here is flexible for this part time position.
- The benefits package includes medical, vision, and dental insurance. It's meant to be comprehensive but still affordable.
- You start accruing a generous PTO package right from day one.
- There's a 401(k) Retirement Plan available.
- We support professional development with CEU reimbursement and opportunities for advanced training.
- Every therapist gets clinical support and mentorship.
- You'll have access to the rehab gym there; it's state of the art technology they're using.
- We also run a referral program if you know someone else who'd be great here.
A quick note: Sigma Health Rehab mentions an Immigration Sponsorship Program. If that's something relevant to your situation, please ask us about it when you apply.
How to apply
The facility involved is the Holliswood Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Hollis, New York. If you're interested in being part of their team of rehab professionals, send your information over. Let them know if you're licensed or on your way there. We'll go from there.
