
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about the job. This isn't a desk gig. You're driving a service truck around Queens, NY, handling portable restrooms and holding tanks. It's physical, it's hands on, and it's the core of what we do.
What you'll be doing
You'll operate one of our trucks, following all USS and Department of Transportation rules to the letter. Safety isn't just a policy here; it's how you do every single task so that everyone goes home in the same shape they started.
- Service portable toilets to our specific 8 point standard.
- Talk with customers on their sites. You're making sure the work meets their expectations and figuring out what they might need down the road.
- Your route isn't always set in stone. You've got to be ready to adjust on the fly when a customer calls.
- We want your input. If you see a way to run a route better or serve a customer smarter, you tell your manager.
The work demands a lot from your body. You're sitting to drive, then standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling at each stop. You'll frequently lift and push between 50 and 150 pounds during your shift.
What you need to bring
- A minimum of two years behind the wheel in a commercial driving capacity.
- A valid driver's license; CDL or non commercial is fine.
- You manage your time well because the routes have to run right.
- When something unexpected comes up, you can think on your feet and make a good call.
The physical side of things
This list is specific because the job is specific. You need to be able to handle all of it.
- Sit while driving; stand while servicing.
- Use your hands constantly to handle tools and controls.
- Make repetitive movements.
- See details close up and far away clearly.
- Speak clearly and understand others in sometimes noisy places.
- Hear well enough to tell different sounds apart for safety checks.
- Walk for up to 30 minutes without getting winded on a site.
- Get in and out of equipment by stepping up and kneeling down.
- Lift 40 pounds from your waist up to your shoulders; lift 30 pounds from the floor up over your head.
- Crouch and squat as part of the servicing process.
The pay & benefits if you're full time
The pay range for this position is $20.42 – $27.57 per hour. Where you land in that range depends on factors like your experience, any relevant certifications, and the specifics of Queens, NY's operation. If you're working an average of 30 hours or more per week, you're eligible for our benefits package.
