Registered Nurse Supervisor, Evening Shift

Far Rockaway Center in Queens, NY needs an RN Supervisor for the evening shift. It's a 100 bed rehab and skilled nursing facility, and they're proud of that smaller size. It means the place can actually feel warm and individual for the residents, which is a big part of their mission.

You'd be coming into a team focused on dignity and independence for every resident. They're part of the Centers Health Care Consortium.

What you'd do

The core of this job is making sure the evening shift runs smoothly and compassionately. You're the one setting the tone.

• Figure out what the residents need and make sure the nursing staff is scheduled and assigned to meet those requirements.
• Your role involves creating a supportive environment, not just for residents but for their families too. You're answering questions, handling requests.
• A big part of it is maintaining safety and cleanliness by upholding the facility's rules.
• You'll manage confidential information carefully to maintain trust.
• Overseeing documentation of care services is essential.
• A lot of this comes down to people; you're there to promote a cooperative relationship across the entire healthcare team on your shift.

What you need to bring

They're looking for specific experience here, especially in this setting.

• A valid New York Registered Nurse license isn't just preferred; it's mandatory.
• You need at least three years of experience in Long Term Care.
• They need someone who can be a strong, positive director for the staff. Think support and leadership, not just oversight.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and prescribing programs is necessary.
• Your communication skills have to be excellent; with residents, families, and your team.
• Basic computer skills round it out.
