What You'll Actually Do

• Oversee the company's financial and accounting operations. That means managing inventory and running month end close procedures.
• Prepare and submit sales tax filings so everything stays compliant with state and federal rules.
• Examine accounting records, financial statements, and other reports for accuracy and completeness against standards.
• Set up, tweak, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems using current computer tech.
• Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns to keep up with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, commitments, and obligations to project future numbers or give advice.
• Report directly to management about the establishment's finances.
• Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to the right accounts.

The Skills You Bring

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or something related. A master's degree or CPA designation helps your case even more.
• At least 5 years in a senior accounting role where you handled a wide range of financial activities yourself.
• A solid grasp of GAAP plus experience with sales tax filings.
• Strong experience with inventory management and closing the books each month.
