What This Role Actually Is
This is a job for a Certified Veterinary Technician at Rivers Veterinary Urgent Care in Pittsburgh, PA. What You'll Actually Do
- Triage, stabilize, monitor, and provide critical care to animals coming through our doors ; you're the person they need when things go wrong
- Explain what's happening to pet owners in plain language; give them discharge instructions and reassurance when they're scared
- Guide your coworkers during busy shifts so the workflow stays smooth and everyone stays focused on what matters
- Keep clear, accurate medical records so nothing gets lost during patient handoffs or team communication
What You Need to Bring
- A calm head and quick decisions when emergencies hit ; no indecisiveness here
- A degree from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technician program and an active CVT license in good standing for Pittsburgh, PA (your state's specific title may vary)
- Real skill with emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing ; this isn't a learn on the job position for those core tasks
- The confidence to handle animals of all temperaments without backing down or getting flustered
