What this role actually is

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty needs a Territory Sales Manager for Pittsburgh, PA. This isn't a desk job. You're part strategist, part hands on coach, and part business consultant for your agents. Think of yourself as the person who builds a recruiting engine rooted in culture and production, then helps agents grow their businesses through real leadership in the field. You'll drive measurable results across your assigned branches ; growing headcount, improving retention, increasing tech adoption, and expanding market share in your region.

What you'll do day to day

  • Build and run the recruiting engine. Identify "rising stars" at competing brokerages ; especially productive agents who've hit a plateau ; and get them interested.
  • Sell the value of what we offer: tools, support, leadership. Move past commission splits as the only conversation. Convert interest into signed affiliations.
  • Handle compliance and onboarding with precision. Guide transitions so they meet Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission (PREC) requirements and our brokerage standards.
  • Coach for better production. Develop agent business plans. Lead accountability rhythms. Give field support that improves listings taken, pendings, closings, and overall productivity.
  • Retain top talent by strengthening engagement and support systems. Reduce churn. Keep high performers thriving here.
  • Drive tech adoption by training agents on our proprietary tools and systems ; follow up with reinforcement and practical use cases out in the field.
  • Partner with branch leaders to align recruiting, training, culture, and performance goals across offices.
  • Own a scorecard focused on net agent count, retention rate, tech adoption rate, and market share growth in your assigned counties/region.
  • Model professionalism every day. Build an environment where agents feel supported, challenged, and proud of the brand.

The kind of person we need

You don't have to be from real estate specifically ; but you need to understand sales culture deeply. We're looking for someone who can recruit without being pushy; coach without micromanaging; build relationships while also tracking hard numbers on a scorecard. Experience working with sales teams or managing agent growth matters more than having a specific title before this gig. You should be comfortable driving accountability one hour then giving strategic advice the next.

Compensation

$80,000 to $120,000 base pay depending on experience ; plus bonus opportunities tied to performance outcomes.
