About This Role

Procurement Director

Summit is looking for a Director of Procurement to join our Corrections team. This role is based in Pittsburgh, PA and operates on a hybrid schedule. You'll be the go to person for a specific product category, working with our procurement team and the larger organization. Collaboration is key here, but you also need to be comfortable driving your own work.

What you'll actually do

  • Lead RFI and RFP events. That means preparing the documents, evaluating the bids, and negotiating pricing.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements that bring real value to different market segments and departments.
  • Manage supplier relationships to make sure everyone sticks to the contract terms, and find new opportunities for the organization.
  • Create procurement programs that support company goals, like Supplier Diversity and Sustainability initiatives.
  • Constantly look for ways to improve how we source, budget, forecast supply chain revenue, and analyze spending to find non contracted savings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with operational market segments and stakeholders ; you'll be the person they rely on for cost reduction, program rollouts, and solving problems.
  • Help integrate new companies into the organization after an acquisition.
  • Support technology projects within the supply chain, like RFP tools, procure to pay systems, and contract compliance tools.

What you need to bring

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least seven years in procurement.
  • Experience with supply chain procurement contracts.
  • You write well and speak clearly.
  • You're solid with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Broad knowledge and technical expertise in managed categories.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the year.

It'd be a bonus if you have experience in indirect or direct spend, leadership experience, or have worked in a matrixed environment.

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this role is $120,000 to $135,000 per year.
