We're looking for a Propulsion Engineer to join one of our client teams in Phoenix, AZ. This isn't your average engineering gig; it's a chance to work on critical hardware for spaceflight. You'd be joining an established team that designs, builds, integrates, and tests spacecraft components.

What you'd do

You'd lead the technical development for mechanical subsystems, with a heavy focus on propulsion. A big part of your role is being the go to expert for the propulsion subsystem, guiding other engineers.

• Perform technical risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for space based mechanical and propulsion systems.
• Design, analyze, and test propulsion systems in close collaboration with other engineers and scientists.
• Use mechanical design and analysis tools to create effective propulsion solutions.
• Work with cross functional teams to successfully integrate propulsion subsystems into the overall spacecraft.
• Keep up with the latest trends in propulsion tech and figure out how to apply them.
• Document every stage of the design and development process thoroughly.

The background we need

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or higher gives you an edge.

• At least 7 years of experience in propulsion engineering or a closely related field.
• Proven experience providing technical expertise on propulsion subsystems.
• You're proficient with standard mechanical design and analysis tools.
• A solid grasp of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is necessary.
• We need someone who can solve tough problems with critical and creative thinking.

The pay range for this contract role is $60 to $125 per hour.
