Occupational Therapist
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this OT role for the upcoming school year in Phoenix, AZ. It's a part time position, and the pay is $50 to $55 an hour. You'd be working with students, building their skills so they can do well in class and in life.
The Work
Your main focus is on creating therapy that actually means something to each kid. You'll take their IEP or medical plan and turn it into a real world program that helps them make progress.
- You're evaluating students, both when they start and as they go along, to figure out what they need.
- A big part of the job is writing it all down. Timely reports, annual reviews, triennial reviews; keeping everything clear and compliant so everyone knows how a student is doing.
- You won't be on an island. You'll work with a whole team of other professionals to set goals and figure out the right accommodations.
- If there are Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) on site, you'd provide oversight and support for their work.
What You Need to Bring
First thing: you've got to have a current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state where you're working. If you're eligible to get it right away, that works too.
They also need you to pass a DOJ/FBI Live Scan background check and a TB test, whatever your state requires.
Now, here’s what would really make someone stand out. If you've worked in schools or treatment settings before, especially with kids who have learning or social emotional challenges, that's a huge plus. Same goes if you already know your way around an IEP process and the documentation systems schools use. Being organized? That’s non negotiable. You're managing cases, deadlines, and detailed notes all at once.
The Details & The Perks
This is for the 26/27 school year. Schedule is part time based on the school's needs.
The company does a few things to help you keep growing. They offer reimbursement for your CEUs and license fees, and there's tuition assistance if you're looking to advance your education further. They also talk about having ongoing professional development opportunities.
