About This Role
The work you'll do
You'll operate, inspect, and keep up the HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across several buildings. This is a hands on mobile role. Your goal is to keep everything running at peak performance, minimize downtime, and make sure the facilities are safe and energy efficient. You'll keep detailed records so the equipment lasts as long as possible and the client's space is always comfortable.
- Preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, and building interiors and exteriors
- Conduct facility inspections and respond to work orders using building automation systems and a computerized maintenance management system
- Keep thorough records and asset history documentation for every piece of equipment and system
- Respond to emergency situations and after hours building emergencies when they come up
- Complete facility due diligence tasks and put together summary reports for management with recommended next steps
- Follow all safety procedures and State/County/City codes, and keep your work areas clean and safe
- Go to periodic training seminars, finish monthly safety training, and stay up to date with industry best practices
What you'll need to bring
High school diploma or equivalent. A valid state driver's license with a clean driving record. You also need your Universal CFC Certification (EPA Section 608).
You should have at least 4 years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong background in HVAC systems. You need to be able to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation. Proven experience with packaged and split HVAC units, plumbing, electrical systems, and equipment repair is required. You also need a solid understanding of building automation systems and fire/life safety systems.
Physical requirements
- Lift up to 80 lbs.
- Climb ladders up to 30 ft.
- Be on call and work overtime as needed
- Work in various indoor and outdoor environments and weather conditions
What would help you stand out
- Experience with Corrigo or a similar CMMS
- Extra HVAC certifications like NATE, RSES, or manufacturer specific ones
- Basic knowledge of energy management systems and building controls
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance scheduling and work order management
- Experience in commercial real estate or multi tenant facilities
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving chops
- Solid communication skills for client interaction and reporting
Location & schedule
This is a mobile position supporting Phoenix, AZ and the surrounding area. You'll work Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00 pm.
