Medical Assistant

The Job

Mayo Clinic is looking for a Medical Assistant in Phoenix, AZ. This isn't just another healthcare job. You'll work directly with physicians and RNs in an ambulatory setting, performing both direct and indirect care tasks under supervision. Your role is part of a broader care team, accepting delegation from the RN or physician to meet patient and family needs. Every action you take follows the patient care plan, organizational policies, and relationship based care principles. You'll handle duties that are lawfully assigned to unlicensed healthcare personnel, no more and no less.

Schedule & Hours

This is a full time, nonexempt position: 80 hours per pay period. You'll work day shifts from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., five 8 hour shifts each week. No weekends. No call. Your schedule might flex a bit depending on staffing needs, but that's the core pattern.

What You Need

• A high school diploma or GED for Arizona locations
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program
• Active certification as a CMA, RMA, or CCMA ; required upfront
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency
• Solid verbal and written communication skills; you'll be talking with patients and colleagues all day
• Prior experience working in a team environment ; this isn't a solo gig
• Computer proficiency including hands on use of electronic medical record systems
• The ability to adapt when things don't go as planned; healthcare gets unpredictable fast

The hourly rate ranges from $20.98 to $29.19, depending on your experience and qualifications.
