Inventory Specialist

The Role

Shamrock Foods Company has an Inventory Specialist opening in Phoenix, AZ that starts at $20 an hour. It's a full time gig with a couple different schedule options: you can work Sunday through Wednesday (with Thursday through Saturday off), or Wednesday through Saturday (Sunday through Tuesday off). Either way, you're looking at day shift hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

What You'll Actually Do

• Count the material, equipment, merchandise, and supplies in stock and post totals to inventory records.
• Compare those inventories to office records, or pull figures from sales orders, production records, and purchase invoices to figure out current stock levels.
• Verify clerical counts against what's physically on the shelf, fix any errors, or dig into discrepancies and report what you find.
• Keep a running tally on receipts and disbursements of everything from materials to supplies, then compute inventory balances, prices, and costs.
• Put together reports on inventory balances, price lists, and shortages.
• Flag items that are running low, and recommend surveying anything defective or unusable.
• Report any accidents, injuries, equipment malfunctions, or safety issues immediately to a supervisor.
• Tackle other duties as they come up to keep the business running.

What You Need

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Fluency in English ; you need to speak, read, and write it.
• Somewhere between one and three months of related experience or training; a mix of education and experience works too.
• Flexibility with your schedule ; this department can require overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• The ability to work in different temperature zones, from -5 degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to ambient room temp.
• Decent vision up close and far away ; you'll be spotting details on packages and labels.
