Emergency Room RN

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this ER RN spot at Northern Nevada Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. It's a full time night shift position on their Emergency Department team. They're offering a $10,000 sign on bonus, which is a pretty clear signal they're looking for someone who knows what they're doing and is ready to jump in.

The Work

You'll be providing direct patient care, from initial head to toe assessments through ongoing treatment. Your patients will run the full spectrum; pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, you name it. A big part of the job is using the triage process to make sure patients get the right level of care at the right time; you need to be sharp and accurate in assigning those categories.

You'll manage pain effectively, using appropriate techniques and making sure patients and their families understand the plan. Communication is key; you're the link between the patient's condition and the physician, so you've got to be clear and proactive about any changes you see. The expectation is that you can respond quickly and correctly when a patient's status shifts.

And while your home base is the ED, you need to be willing to float to other units in the hospital as needed. You should be able to handle general nursing duties in different departments with some supervision.

What You Need to Bring

  • A current Nevada RN license.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
  • You'll need a PALS certificate too; if you don't have it coming in, you have six months from your start date to get it.
  • At least two and a half years of solid Emergency Room experience. This isn't an entry level gig.

The Schedule & Benefits

This is a full time role on a night shift schedule. The benefits package is for real:

  • A competitive compensation package.
  • Generous paid time off.
  • Excellent medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans.
  • A 401(k) plan with company match and a discounted stock plan.
  • They emphasize career development opportunities across their large network of facilities.

The Bigger Picture

The hospital talks a lot about its values; compassion, empathy, teamwork, quality. It sounds like they want those things to be real, not just words on a website. They're part of Universal Health Services (UHS), which is one of the larger healthcare providers out there. If moving around within a big system later on appeals to you, that path exists here.

How To Apply

A quick but important note: UHS has flagged that during recruitment, no legitimate recruiter or employee should ever ask you for financial or personal details like your Social Security Number upfront. If someone does that claiming to be from UHS or its hospitals? That’s a scam; report it immediately through official channels listed on their corporate site (uhs.com). Protect yourself out there.

Universal Health Services and all its subsidiaries are equal opportunity employers. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, disability status, genetics protected veteran status sexual orientation gender identity or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal state or local laws.
