Gilmore Dental Care is a brand new office in Phoenix, AZ and we're looking for a Part Time Dental Hygienist to work Thursdays and Fridays. This isn't some temporary fill in spot. You'd be backed by Heartland Dental ; the nation's largest dental support organization, handling all the non clinical stuff for over 3,000 supported doctors across 1,900+ offices in 39 states and DC. But here's the thing: each office keeps its own local character, and your doctor still calls all the clinical shots. They set the care philosophy because they live there with you.
You'll get recognized as an elite provider and a real patient advocate around here. Not just in name ; they put their money where their mouth is with a robust Hygiene mentor program and serious educational offerings to sharpen your skills. You give patients the time and care they actually deserve, and you're 100% supported doing it.
What You'll Actually Do
- Perform dental hygiene procedures ; cleanings, screenings, patient assessments
- Document medical histories thoroughly
- Use tools like Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, digital x rays, and electronic medical record systems
- Provide preventative care and help manage patients' long term dental health
- Keep learning ; you'll grow your clinical skills to meet whatever your patients need
- Handle physical demands: prolonged sitting or standing, lifting up to 45 pounds now and then
- Attend virtual or in person training sessions periodically throughout the year
- A TB test is required before starting (not applicable in Florida or Tennessee)
What You Need To Have Going In
- A current dental hygienist license in Arizona
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (wherever that's required)
- Solid working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, patient screening protocols, medical history documentation practices
- A current CPR certification card in hand
- The ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation (we work that out case by case)
