About This Role

The Job

This is a Valet Attendant role with Towne Park in Philadelphia, PA. You're the first and last person a guest sees, so you set the tone for their entire visit. It's not just about parking cars; it's about making people feel taken care of, whether they're a patient coming in for a procedure or a guest checking into a hotel. Every day you get a chance to make someone's day a little better.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Greet every guest within five feet with a professional, friendly attitude. Use their last name when you talk to them. It's a small thing that makes a big difference.
  • Park and retrieve vehicles, always driving slow and cautious. You'll handle the cars carefully.
  • Help guests with their luggage, including delivery and pickup during arrival and departure. Open car doors and hotel doors for them.
  • Answer questions about directions, taxis, reservations, and anything else guests need. Tell them about the facility's outlets, meeting rooms, and amenities, plus local attractions.
  • Deliver messages, items, or guest amenities as requested. Shuttle guests to approved spots on the property.
  • Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures when guests arrive. Issue claim checks only after you get the keys, and collect those checks before returning keys.
  • Fill out ticket info completely every time: key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, and claim check receipt. Write the location on every key tag after parking.
  • Calculate and collect parking revenue when needed.
  • Use the salutation of the day and proper phone etiquette. Stand in designated areas when you're not busy.

What You Need

  • A high school diploma or a GED.
  • A valid driver's license for the state you're applying in, or a state within commuting distance.
  • At least one month of related experience or training. An equivalent mix of education and experience works too.
  • The ability to read and write standard English, understand simple instructions and memos, and write basic correspondence. You'll present info to guests and coworkers one on one or in small groups.
  • Basic math skills: add and subtract three digit numbers, multiply and divide using tens and hundreds, and work with American money.
  • Understand 24 hour time and military time, plus rates based on time passed.
  • Be comfortable with parallel parking.
  • Knowing how to drive a manual transmission? That's highly desirable, but not required.

The Pay & Schedule

Your base pay is $11 per hour, plus tips. Pay is based on your skills, experience, education, and location.

The schedule is variable. You'll work different days and shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

A Few More Details

This is a fairly routine job. You'll follow established practices and procedures, with specific directions given and your work checked regularly. Decisions are made within set guidelines. Mistakes could mess with the department's smooth operation. You'll have control over the resources available to you.

Towne Park can provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
