About This Role

What You'll Be Doing

This is a maintenance role for an industrial mechanic at our Philadelphia, PA facility. You'll work on both the big stuff and the small stuff ; buildings, equipment, production machinery. Sometimes you're doing minor repairs, sometimes full overhauls. It depends on what's needed that day.

You'll maintain and repair hand tools and power tools, making sure everything stays safe and efficient. Preventive maintenance is a big part of the gig: inspecting belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, greasing bearings, replacing seals, and swapping out broken parts. You'll also calibrate and repair pneumatic systems on production equipment to keep the process running at its best.

There's computer work too. You might operate a system that controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems. And you'll complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance ; keeping records of everything you've done.

  • Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment
  • Maintain and repair hand and power tools to keep them in safe working order
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment
  • Operate a computer that controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems
  • Calibrate and repair pneumatic systems and other mechanical systems on production equipment
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance
  • Keep records of all scheduled maintenance procedures
  • Do other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or leadership team

Physical Demands

This job is physical. You'll be on your feet a lot, walking around, using your hands to handle, feel, and reach. You'll climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. You'll talk and hear throughout the day. Occasionally you'll sit. And you'll frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds ; with assistance, but regularly.

What You Need to Bring

You need to be someone who works well with others ; safely and productively. Safety isn't just a word here; it's a prerequisite. Every activity starts with completing a work analysis Pre Task Form. You have to understand that process and follow it before any job gets started.

This is a continuous run environment. That means your hours and shifts will flex depending on what the plant needs, all within the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Perform skilled and semi skilled maintenance activities across trades ; electrical (if qualified and authorized), plumbing, welding (if qualified and authorized), and carpentry
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing shift schedules
  • Willingness to work within a union environment per the CBA
  • Comfortable with physical demands: standing, walking, climbing, lifting over 50 pounds, and working in varied positions throughout the day

Pay

$29.62 per hour.
