About This Role

What you'll actually do as an Electrician

This is a senior level role in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You're the person they call when something electrical, instrumentation, or controls related goes sideways ; or better yet, you're the one making sure it never does. You'll work on everything from 480V distribution to 15kV switchgear. You'll troubleshoot motor control centers, HVAC components, chillers, boilers, and air compressors. And you'll do it all while following NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E to the letter.

On the instrumentation side, you're maintaining pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors. You'll use decade boxes, field calibrators, and loop calibrators to keep everything accurate and audit ready. Calibration records matter here ; regulators will look at them.

Controls and automation are a big part of this job too. You'll work with Building Automation Management Systems (BAMS) like Siemens Apogee/Desigo or Johnson Controls Metasys. You'll also dig into Process Control Systems (PCS) ; think Siemens and Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, ladder logic, and control loops. You'll interpret schematics, P&IDs, and loop diagrams to find faults and optimize sequences.

Documentation is non negotiable. You'll complete work orders and logs in the CMMS. You'll follow cGMP, SOPs, lockout/tagout, and arc flash procedures. You might even help write or update SOPs and change control documents.

What you need to bring

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • An associate's degree or vocational training in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, or Industrial Controls is highly preferred
  • ISA CCST Level I or higher ; or an equivalent certification ; is preferred
  • 10+ years of hands on industrial maintenance experience focused on electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls in a highly regulated environment
  • At least 5 years of that experience must be in Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical manufacturing under cGMP and regulatory scrutiny (FDA, EMA, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of low voltage industrial electrical systems and motor controls
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with BAMS (Siemens Apogee/Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys) or industrial PLC/DCS platforms
  • You can read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and loop diagrams like it's a habit
  • Strong understanding of metrology and field calibration techniques
  • Solid communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills

The physical side of the job

You'll lift up to 50 pounds. You'll work in confined spaces, at heights, in mechanical rooms, and in clean rooms. You'll stand, walk, climb ladders, and kneel for extended stretches. It's not a desk job.

Schedule and conditions

This is a full time position. You'll be part of an on call rotation to provide 24/7 emergency support for critical systems. This role does not offer visa sponsorship.

Benefits
