Duties & Responsibilities
- Continuously observe cardiac monitors for multiple patients, identifying and documenting rhythm changes.
- Recognize life threatening arrhythmias like ventricular tachycardia or asystole and initiate the proper emergency notification protocol immediately.
- Prepare and document detailed rhythm strips for patient charts and physician review at shift change.
- Perform routine equipment checks on telemetry transmitters and bedside monitors, reporting any malfunctions.

Requirements

- You need solid rhythm recognition skills; knowing your SVT from your sinus tach without hesitation.
- Prior experience in a hospital telemetry unit or similar monitoring environment is a big plus.

You'll typically be stationed at a central monitoring bank, often near a nurse's station. It's a quiet but intense environment where the hum of equipment and soft alarm chimes are your background noise. You're part of the broader clinical team; nurses rely on your calls, and you'll communicate with them constantly.
