Veterinary Technician

What You'll Do

This is a dual role position at Tender Care Animal Hospital of Peoria. Half your time, you're in the treatment area assisting with outpatient visits and procedures. The other half, you're at the front desk greeting clients, managing appointment flow, answering questions in person and over the phone, and giving guidance on our services. You'll work alongside doctors and veterinary technicians while also being the face of our hospital for pet owners who need education and support.

It's a job for someone who genuinely likes variety. One minute you're restraining an anxious dog for an exam; the next, you're scheduling three follow up appointments and helping a client decide which flea prevention to use.

The Schedule

Flexible schedule options ; either five 8 hour shifts or four 10 hour shifts each week. You'll work Monday through Friday, with weekends on rotation.

Compensation & Benefits

• $16-$18 per hour (actual pay based on education, training, experience, geographic location where work is performed, plus other relevant factors)

What We Need From You

• 1+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting ; that's the minimum we ask for here.
• A solid handle on restraint technique so patients stay safe during exams and treatments.
• The ability to administer medications properly ; oral, injectable, topical ; whatever's needed.
• A sharp eye for obtaining vitals like temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate consistently.
• The kind of communication skills that help nervous pet owners feel informed and supported without needing a dictionary or veterinary textbook.
• Surgery and treatment set up experience; you know what goes where before the doctor even asks for it.
