Cardiac RN

This is a nursing role on the cardiac care unit at Carle Health in Peoria, IL. You'll work as part of an interdisciplinary team, applying the nursing process to manage patient care from admission through discharge.

What You'll Do

• Assess patients through interviews, observation, and physical exams to identify actual problems and outcomes
• Build an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the patient, their family, and the healthcare team
• Use interventions from the care plan to hit expected patient outcomes
• Evaluate and document patient progress toward goals throughout the shift, adjusting the plan as the patient's condition changes
• Complete all required documentation, including patient charts and event reports
• Troubleshoot equipment issues as they come up
• Stay current on evidence based nursing practices and share clinical knowledge through informal teaching with your team
• Use a practical problem solving approach for patient moving and handling, including lift equipment when needed
• Obtain adequate lab specimens and perform bedside lab testing with proper quality control, following provider orders and hospital policies
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to organize tasks from admission to discharge
• Choose teaching strategies that fit the patient's and family's age specific needs
• Participate in data collection, analysis, and problem solving to improve processes and patient satisfaction
• Make sure care aligns with standards of care, evidence based practices, national patient safety goals, core measures, and other quality initiatives

What You Need

• A college diploma in nursing, ADN, or BSN
• A Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, obtained within 30 days of hire

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.32 to $57.31 per hour. That's a good faith estimate based on the role at the time of posting. Actual compensation depends on your experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, the shifts you work, and the compensation model. Carle Health offers a comprehensive benefits package.
