About This Role
What You'll Be Doing
You'd be working under minimal supervision here, handling maintenance and repair for all kinds of hospital owned equipment. That includes normal and emergency power distribution systems, automatic transfer switches, and generator testing. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems: wiring, lighting and lighting controls, motor controls, plus specialized hospital systems like nurse call, public address, fire alarm, and building automation.
Your schedule could flex a bit ; varying hours, different days, occasional weekends. It's an 8 hour shift on days.
What You Need to Bring
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- At least five years of experience as a journeyman electrician ; trade school or military service counts toward that. Hospital experience is preferred but not required.
- A current California Driver's License.
- A current Journeyman Electrician Certification from the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
- Knowledge of trade practices and electrical codes. You should be able to supervise and train others in those areas too.
- Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook ; plus working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- You're a collaborative problem solver with solid communication skills.
The Pay & Benefits Part
The base rate for this role is $37.00 to $55.50 per hour. That's just the start ; there are differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses on top of that for qualifying positions. And you get access to a comprehensive benefits program if you qualify.
