About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this role. It's for a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist at UCF Lake Nona Hospital in Orlando, FL. You're the person who makes sure everything runs smoothly during some of the most critical procedures we do. You'll be right there with physicians, handling advanced equipment and focusing on patient safety from start to finish.
What you'll do here
Your main focus is supporting complex cardiac and vascular procedures. That means angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements. You're a crucial part of the team that makes these happen.
- Work directly with physicians during procedures.
- Get patients and their families ready for what's coming; you'll guide them through the process with clear information and reassurance.
- Operate and maintain the specialized equipment in the cath lab. It's state of the art stuff, and you'll need to know it inside out.
- Monitor how patients are responding throughout their treatment.
- Keep the environment sterile and safe. You're an advocate for the patient in the room.
What you need to bring
The formal requirements are pretty specific. We need to make sure you're set up to succeed from day one.
- A diploma from a Vocational School or a High School Graduate / GED is required.
- You must have one of these active certifications: (ARRT R) Radiography, (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, or (RCES) Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification has to be obtained within your first 30 days on the job.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification needs to be completed within your first 6 months.
