HCA Florida Osceola Hospital needs an Ultrasound Technologist for a PRN position in Orlando, FL. You'll be doing ultrasound procedures ; both routine and invasive ; using stationary and portable gear all over the facility, including the operating room. You'll work with patients of every age, and you'll provide preliminary interpretations of exams when needed. Expect to handle some clerical work, assist with patient transport, and cover weekends, holidays, and on call shifts based on what the department needs. You'll also provide ultrasound services across All FSED locations, Osceola Imaging, and Osceola Regional as assigned.

What You'll Actually Do

• Perform routine and invasive ultrasound procedures accurately and on time
• Use both stationary and portable equipment anywhere in the facility
• Work with patients of all ages ; from kids to the elderly
• Provide preliminary interpretations of exams as required
• Assist with patient transport and other related services
• Handle clerical tasks as needed
• Cover weekends, holidays, and on call shifts based on department volume and staffing
• Provide ultrasound services at all FSED locations, Osceola Imaging, and Osceola Regional as required and assigned
• Diagnose basic equipment malfunctions and communicate with service personnel
• Use initiative and independent judgment when the situation calls for it
• Train different types of staff in essential job functions and evaluate their performance
• Coordinate varied tasks and use proper communication channels

What You Need

• Vocational school graduate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or you're a Registered Vascular Technician (RVT), or an Ultrasonographer, or a Registered Vascular Specialist
• BLS Certification ; you've got to have it
• 1 to 3 years of ultrasound experience, though that's preferred, not required
• Extensive knowledge of how all departmental equipment, accessories, and procedures work
• Good communication skills ; plain and simple
