About This Role
The Job: Physical Therapy Assistant at VitalCaring
This isn't just another PTA position. You'd be working with VitalCaring Group, a home health and hospice provider that started in 2021 and now has over 100 locations nationwide. The role is full time and salaried, based in Orlando, FL. You'd be part of a field team, going to patients rather than working out of a single clinic. It's a job where you'll carry a lot of responsibility on your own, but you're backed by a team that actually invests in your growth.
What You'll Actually Do
You'll provide physical therapy interventions, but always under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in line with the physician's plan of care and your state's Physical Therapy Practice Act. Your day to day work involves treating patients to help relieve pain, maintain function, and support maximum safe performance. Expect to:
- Lead patients through active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re education, gait training, functional mobility activities, transfer training, and prosthetic training.
- Use physical agents like heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage ; as allowed by your state's practice guidelines.
- Observe and report patient responses, progress, or changes in condition to the Physical Therapist and other agency personnel.
- Instruct patients on the safe use and care of mobility and supportive devices: wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
- Document clinical notes and updates in a timely, accurate way; make sure everything gets into the patient's clinical record.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care discussions and collaborate with the wider hospice care team.
- Attend home care team meetings, in service programs, and interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings.
- Take part in quality assessment and performance improvement activities.
- Handle other duties as needed to keep patient care at a high level.
What You Need to Bring
You need to have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program with an associate degree in science or applied science ; the program should be approved by the APTA. You also need to meet the hospice personnel qualifications under §418.114(b)(8). Current PTA certification or licensure is required by state law. Current CPR certification is non negotiable. And you need to be a licensed driver with a reliable, insured automobile that meets the organization's requirements. They're looking for someone with strong verbal, written, and organizational skills, but that's not just corporate talk ; you'll need those to coordinate care effectively.
The Benefits Package
Here's what they offer. It's a real package, not just a list of buzzwords.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Pharmacy benefits.
- Virtual and mental health support.
- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and a Health Savings Account (HSA).
- Supplemental health and life insurance.
- 401(k) with a company match.
- An employee referral program.

A Few Things to Know
This is a full time, salaried clinician role. The schedule is built around your patients and your personal life ; you have flexibility to manage commitments throughout your day. You're not stuck in a facility all shift. The pay is competitive, and they celebrate individual contributions and team achievements. You'll get advanced training, mentorship, and career development opportunities if you want them.
How to Apply
If this sounds like the right fit, send in your application through JobXi. Make sure your resume shows your PTA certification, your associate degree from an APTA approved program, your current CPR card, and a valid driver's license. They'll verify the car insurance situation later. That's it.
