About This Role
The Job
This is a PRN nights position on the Post Partum unit at UCF Lake Nona Hospital in Orlando, FL. You'll provide direct patient care using a family centered approach. Your patients will be low and high risk postpartum patients and normal newborns. You'll monitor their progress and get them ready for discharge. The team here works collaboratively, and they're looking for someone who does the same.
Here's what you'll actually do day to day:
- Collect comprehensive data about each patient's health or situation
- Advocate for your patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
- Identify expected outcomes that are individualized to each patient and their situation
- Manage your time, supplies, and equipment effectively
- Educate patients about their medications, procedures, and treatments
- Provide ongoing support to patients and their families throughout their stay
What You Need
You need a Florida RN license or an approved multistate RN license. If you have a compact license, you have 60 days after relocating to get the Florida one.
They prefer at least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care environment. A Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing is the minimum; a BSN is preferred.
Here are the certifications and timelines:
- NIH Stroke Scale ; must get within 30 days of starting
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor ; must get within 30 days of starting
- American Heart Association ACLS Provider card ; required within 6 months of your start date
- Neonate Resuscitate ; must get within 30 days of starting

About the Hospital
HCA Florida UCF Lake Nona Hospital is located in the southern Orlando suburb of Lake Nona ; known as Medical City. It's a newly opened hospital providing full service healthcare to Osceola County and surrounding communities. You'll find a wide range of specialties here, including 24/7 emergency care, women's care, and comprehensive surgical services like robotic surgery. They also have an Advanced Imaging Center and a Family Birthing Unit. Patient centered care is the focus.
