About This Role

What You'll Do as an Endoscopy RN at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital

This is a PRN (as needed) Registered Nurse position in the Endoscopy unit at Orlando, FL. You'll work alongside credentialed physicians to perform endoscopic procedures that diagnose, care for, and treat patients. It's hands on clinical work with real variety from one case to the next.

  • Set up and stock endoscopy suites for each procedure based on what the physician needs that day
  • Follow the established protocol when scheduling patients in the OR module for every procedure
  • Educate patients about their procedure before it starts and offer comfort and support throughout
  • Apply moderate sedation policy and procedure correctly; you need to know how these meds work during a scope
  • Watch for potential complications related to endoscopic procedures, then document patient response including any changes in physiological or psychological status
  • Use resources and personnel wisely to keep the environment focused on quality patient care

What You Need to Bring

The requirements here are specific. Don't apply if you don't meet them.

  • An Associates Degree in Nursing or a Diploma in Nursing is required. A BSN is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A current Florida RN license or an approved multistate RN license is required. If you hold a compact license, you have 60 days after relocation to get your Florida license.
  • A BLS AHA Provider card is needed within 30 days of starting
  • An ACLS American Heart Association ACLS Provider card is also required
  • You must have acute care experience. No exceptions there.
  • Previous endoscopy experience? That's preferred but not required.
  • CGRN certification is preferred too.

This is a PRN role at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, which is a 404 bed tertiary care hospital in Orlando, FL. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and operates as a Level II Trauma Center. It's also a teaching hospital working with UCF College of Medicine.
