About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this job at Fort Street Veterinarian in Omaha, NE.
We're a small animal practice with a 4.7 star Google rating, which honestly means more to us than any corporate award. It means the people here trust us, and we work hard every day to keep that trust. You'd be joining a team where supporting each other isn't just a slogan; it's how we make sure the medicine is good and the days are manageable.
The Role
This is for a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Your state might call it something else, but you know who you are.
- You'll use your full skillset: treatments, anesthesia monitoring, lab work; the whole clinical picture.
- A big part of this is client communication. You're explaining treatments, going over records, and answering questions clearly.
- We need someone who can help guide the flow of the day and lend a hand to newer team members when they need it.
- And you’ll contribute to keeping our environment positive, whether that's through training or just giving helpful feedback.
What You Need
- A diploma from an AVMA accredited Vet Tech program.
- A current state vet tech license in good standing.
- Solid hands on skills across nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and lab procedures.
- The ability to stay calm and keep things moving when it gets busy. It happens.
- You've got to communicate well and actually like working with a team. We all depend on each other here.
One year of experience in the field is preferred. But if you're newly licensed with the right attitude and skills, let's talk anyway.
The Support & The Perks
We're part of Mission Pet Health. That gives you the feel of a local clinic but with some bigger organization resources behind you. The focus is on setting you up so you can do your job well.
- The pay is competitive; your specific rate or salary will be based on your experience and this role.
- For health coverage, we offer Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance options. There's also an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available to everyone.
- For financial planning: 401k options are there for your future, plus Life Insurance and Disability coverage for some extra security.
- We’re serious about growth. There are professional development opportunities here. If you're looking at an AVMA accredited vet tech program for credentialing or advancement, educational assistance might be available if you qualify.
