About This Role

Alright, let's get straight to it. I'm looking for a Project Manager who knows the world of DSA and K 12 construction inside and out. This isn't about just any building; it's about schools, about public projects that shape communities. You'll be running these jobs from the very first planning meeting all the way through to handing over the keys.

What you'll do

The work is full cycle. You're taking ownership of these projects from preconstruction to final closeout.

  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, making sure we finish on time and on budget.
  • Your day to day involves constant coordination with clients, architects, engineers, school district officials, and our subcontractors.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and vendor management to keep things efficient.
  • A big part of the job is ensuring DSA compliance, meeting all quality standards, safety regulations (OSHA included), and specific school district requirements.
  • You'll spot potential risks or delays early and figure out how to navigate around them.
  • Leading and mentoring the project team is key; clear communication keeps everything moving forward.

What you need to bring

I need someone who's been in the trenches on this specific type of work. General construction experience won't cut it here.

  • A solid five years in commercial construction project management, with a focus on K 12 and DSA regulated projects.
  • A Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or something similar is great, but your proven experience matters more.
  • You have to know scheduling, budgeting, contract management, and project documentation backwards and forwards.
  • Be comfortable with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong problem solving skills are non negotiable; so is being organized enough to keep multiple plates spinning.
  • A working understanding of DSA processes, local building codes, permitting; all of it.

A little extra that would really stand out

If you've got this in your background too, even better:

  • Hands on experience with ground up builds, modernizations, and tenant improvement projects specifically for educational facilities.
  • Deep knowledge of DSA approvals, inspections, and how to close out a project cleanly with them.
  • Existing relationships with subcontractors and other pros in the public works and education construction space here in Omaha, NE would be a huge advantage.

The details & what we provide

The salary range for this role is $120k to $180k per year. There's also potential for performance based bonuses on top of that. The schedule is full time based on project needs in Omaha, NE.

The benefits are real:
