About This Role
What You'll Do
You'll handle building materials ; loading them onto trucks, unloading them at job sites, and getting them up onto roofs. That includes both residential homes and commercial buildings. You'll work with the driver to make sure everything is loaded correctly, then manually unload it onto rooftops using a conveyor system. It's your job to follow the Roofing Contractors' specifications, keep customer property protected, and follow all SRS safety standards while doing it.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading roofing materials from delivery trucks, using both your hands and mechanical methods
- Following safety guidelines and procedures on every site
- Helping assemble scaffolding and other structures when needed
- Inspecting equipment and reporting any problems or issues you find
- Distributing materials onto flat and sloped roofs according to company safety guidelines
- Operating conveyor belt systems to move materials from flatbed trucks to rooftops (after you're trained and certified)
- Verifying material orders and making sure the right quantities are loaded and delivered
- Keeping documentation of all inventory movements
- Providing good service to roofing contractors by handling their material needs and answering their questions
- Following OSHA regulations and company protocols, including wearing PPE
- Coordinating with drivers and other team members for efficient loading and unloading
- Inspecting delivery sites for potential hazards and helping the driver maneuver in tight spaces
Where You'll Work
This role is mostly outdoors and on rooftops. You'll be in all kinds of weather. Hard hats, safety harnesses, and gloves are required every day. You'll work at significant heights on different roof surfaces. The work hours are typically Monday through Friday with early start times, and you might need to work occasional overtime or weekends.
You'll travel frequently within the branch delivery area using company vehicles. That means going to residential and commercial customer locations. Occasionally you might need to travel overnight to help at nearby branches or support storm relief efforts, but that's less than 10% of the time and you'll get advance notice.
Who You're Working With
You report to the Site Supervisor or Manager. No direct reports. You'll work closely with drivers and other team members to keep things running smoothly.
What You Need to Bring
- Reliable transportation for getting to work

- Ability to pass a pre employment drug test
- Physical stamina and strength to lift between 80 and 100 lbs. properly and repeatedly
- Basic math skills for counting inventory accurately
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Safety awareness and knowledge of OSHA guidelines
- Good balance and comfort working at heights
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and handle materials up to 100 lbs. regularly
- Willingness to work on various roof pitches and heights while wearing a harness and other PPE
Physical Demands
This job is physically demanding. You need to lift heavy items regularly and operate machinery. You'll be standing, walking, bending, climbing, and handling materials up to 100 lbs. You also need good balance and must be comfortable working at heights. Standard office tasks like using a computer and communicating come up occasionally too. Compensation and Benefits
Pay ranges from $18.00 to $24.00 per hour depending on experience. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available. You'll get paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) with company match.
