Automation Engineer

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Automation Engineer spot we have open. It's with Control Masters, and I've been working with them for a while. They're the real deal in building automation. This isn't about just having a job; it's about getting your hands on the systems that make hospitals, schools, and office buildings actually work.

What you'd be doing

The role is based in Omaha, NE. You'll split your time between the office and different job sites around the area.

  • Designing, programming, and providing support for building automation and DDC control systems.
  • You'll review project plans, specs, and sequences of operations to understand what's needed.
  • Picking out the right system components is part of it; controllers, sensors, actuators, valves.
  • Creating wiring diagrams and control drawings using Visio.
  • The programming side involves setting up DDC controllers and developing the user interfaces that people actually interact with.
  • A big part is being in the field to diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and fine tune system performance so everything runs smoothly.

What you need to bring

We're looking for someone who can jump in. Here's the specifics.

  • You should have one to two years of experience in building automation or a closely related technical field.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • You need to be able to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation without a hitch.
  • Hands on experience programming DDC controllers is a must have.
  • We use Visio for control drawings, so experience there is important.
  • A valid driver’s license is non negotiable for getting to sites.
  • And you must be able to remain tobacco free while you're on any job site.

The good stuff

The pay range is $65,000 to $110,000 per year. Where you land depends on your experience and how you perform. There are chances for overtime and weekend work if you want to boost your earnings further. You can also earn performance based bonuses tied directly to results.

The benefits are solid:

  • Medical insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • A 401(k) plan with an employer match
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • Parental leave

The company provides a fuel card for work travel. They also supply the tools you need and invest in paid training to help you keep your skills sharp.

A bit about the place

You'd be joining a tight knit team that's well respected in this industry. The leadership here genuinely values your input and makes sure hard work gets recognized. You won't get bored; the work exposes you to all sorts of commercial facilities: hospitals, schools, new construction projects. There are real opportunities here to grow your technical skill set and move your career forward.

What happens next?

The process is straightforward. Apply today. If it looks like a fit, we'll do a quick phone screening. After that, you'll have an interview with their team to really dig into your goals and experience.
