Surgical Technologist

Alright, let's talk about this Surgical Tech II role at Oklahoma Surgicare in Oklahoma City, OK.

You're working directly with the surgeon and the RN to make sure everything in the OR runs smoothly. It's hands on, it's technical, and you're a crucial part of the team from setup to cleanup.

What you'll be doing

• Scrub in and assist the surgeon at the operative field, anticipating what they and the patient need during the case.
• Help with room turnover between cases; that means disposing of trash and linens, plus cleaning equipment and surfaces.
• Care for surgical specimens. You'll identify them with the surgeon, hand them off to the circulating RN, and verify the labeling is correct.
• Handle instruments and supplies safely during and after procedures.
• Record clinical data in the medical record and collaborate consistently with the Registered Nurse on clinical decisions.

The background we need

• A graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. This is required by our facility practice and state regulations.
• One year of experience working in an operating room setting. Experience in an ambulatory surgery center is a definite plus.
• A valid BCLS Certification is required when you start. Just a heads up: online only certifications aren't acceptable for this.
