The Job
Mercy needs a Rehab RN in Oklahoma City, OK. You'd be working under the Physical Therapy Supervisor, helping therapists handle patient care for people of all ages. It's a hands on role where you're bouncing between tasks, working directly with patients, therapists, and nurses.
What You'll Actually Do
- Help with patient registration and scheduling
- Perform patient care duties for patients of all ages, following departmental policies and procedures and working under the direction of staff therapists
- Transport patients to and from the Rehab Therapy Gym
- Enter charges and prepare treatment areas
- Assist with treatment procedures as directed by therapists
- Clean and prepare treatment areas
- Help with appointment scheduling and filing when needed
- Occasionally handle receptionist duties
- Safely transport patients to and from the department following safety policies and procedures
- Assist therapists by performing treatment procedures and modalities according to standards of care and safety
- Know the special needs and behaviors of different age groups
- Greet patients and visitors courteously, and notify the appropriate therapist immediately when a patient arrives
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience or education in therapies is preferred
- Good human relation skills ; especially listening and speaking ; particularly when working with patients
- You work well with others and you're flexible about doing different tasks
- You take initiative and handle daily tasks without being told
- No supervisory responsibilities here
