What This Pharmacy Residency Is About
Mercy is looking for a PGY1 Pharmacy Resident for our Oklahoma City, OK location. This is a 12 month program starting June 22, 2026. It's built to turn you into a well rounded pharmacy practitioner through real direct patient care, working alongside other disciplines, and growing professionally.
The residency covers all the ASHP objectives for a pharmacy practice resident. You'll keep your pharmacotherapy skills sharp by reading primary literature, national guidelines, and medical references. And everything you do should reflect Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.
What You'll Actually Do
- Provide pharmaceutical care and help with daily pharmacy operations
- Catch drug related problems before they happen ; or fix them when they do
- Hit every objective set out in the ASHP PGY1 residency program
- Stay current on pharmacotherapy by digging into primary literature, national guidelines, and medical references
- Tackle assigned projects, clinical activities, and any related duties that come up
- Handle and dispose of site generated hazardous waste exactly per policy
- Comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations that apply to this role
What You Need to Qualify
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
- You must get your pharmacy license in the state where you'll practice within 120 days of starting
- If you're in Missouri: you need Medication Therapy Services (MTS) certification within 120 days of hire too
- Strong attention to detail ; like genuinely obsessive about accuracy
- Good communication skills, both verbal and non verbal
- A professional, caring attitude with patients, families, visitors, and coworkers
- Flexibility in a healthcare environment that changes constantly
- You'll need to finish departmental orientation and age specific competencies within your first three months here
