
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Paramedic job in Oklahoma City, OK. It's a full time position on the ambulance, and it's exactly what you'd expect: you're running 911 calls, making decisions, and providing the care. This is the real deal.
What you'll be doing
You're the one in charge on scene. You'll assess each call, figure out the best course of action, and work through progressive paramedic protocols to do it. That means using all your skills and the equipment on the rig.
- Operate medical equipment like defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen and suction devices, and start IVs.
- You need to communicate clearly with patients and their families; you're their lifeline and their source of information when everything is chaotic.
- Act as team leader for the scene and manage your unit.
- Drive the ambulance on emergency responses.
- Work professionally with all allied health personnel, public safety partners, and your fellow crew members every single day.
What you need to have
The qualifications are non negotiable. You must upload every single active document listed here with your application or you won't be considered. Don't skip one.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A valid California Driver’s License.
- A California Ambulance Driver’s License from the DMV.
- A current Medical Examiner’s Card.
- Your active State of California Paramedic License.
- CPR Card from the American Heart Association only (Health Care Provider level). Hand written cards aren't accepted.
- ACLS Card from AHA only. Again, no hand written cards.
- A PALS Card from AHA or a PEPP card. Same rule applies: AHA only, no handwritten versions.
- A driving record that complies with company safety policy; proof will be required if a conditional offer is made.
- You also need completion certificates for these FEMA ICS courses: IS 100B (ICS 100), IS 200B (ICS 200), IS 700A (NIMS), and IS 800B (NIMS).
The schedule & pay
This is a full time role working 12 hour shifts or 24 hour shifts. The pay range is $22.39 to $24.98 per hour, depending on your experience.
