Nurse Manager - Med Surg & Outpatient

This is a Nurse Manager role with Mercy in Oklahoma City, OK. You'd be supporting the Chief Nursing Officer directly, making sure the Med Surg and Outpatient Departments run safely and efficiently. It's not a desk job ; you're out there making sure the staff is competent, resources aren't wasted, and financial goals get met. Customer service satisfaction matters here too.

You'll work closely with other administrators, physicians, and staff across the hospital. The goal is to keep communication open, share data that matters, and improve care from one end of the continuum to the other. It's collaborative work that requires real presence.

What you'll do

• Oversee daily operations in Med Surg and Outpatient to ensure safe, quality, cost effective care
• Make sure staffing stays competent and aligned with patient needs
• Meet productivity targets and financial goals without cutting corners on care
• Track and improve customer service satisfaction scores
• Work across departments with administrative leaders, physicians, and other staff to share data and improve processes
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in your area of responsibility day to day

Qualifications & experience

• A graduate degree from an approved school of nursing; BSN is preferred but not required off the bat
• A current Registered Nurse license for the state where you'll practice in Oklahoma City, OK
• At least three years of nursing experience under your belt
• Previous leadership or management experience is preferred ; it helps a lot but isn't a dealbreaker if you don't have it yet
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required ; you've got 90 days from hire to get them if you don't already have them
• A solid understanding of the patient care process plus real clinical expertise in your area of responsibility
• The ability to communicate well with people at every level ; that's a requirement here, not just a nice to have
