Multi Modality Technologist (PRN)
SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - St. Louis is looking for a Multi Modality Technologist in Oklahoma City, OK. This is a PRN, variable shift position. The core of the work is performing diagnostic imaging exams to help diagnose illness and injury.
In this role, you'll perform plain films, fluoro, portables, and OR exams. Depending on the mix of your skills, you might also work with plain films and Bone Density (the BD registry is required for that). Here's the catch on the multi modality part: you need to work at least 30% of your FTE in a secondary modality to qualify for this type of job.
What You Will Do
- Position patients and select the right anatomic and technical parameters. Accuracy matters here.
- Follow radiation protection and safety standards.
- Prepare for, perform, and assist physicians with special and advanced procedures.
- Administer contrast media and medications within your scope of practice and according to state and federal regulations.
- Make sure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
- Get high quality images and documents to PACS promptly, with correct lead markers, patient data, and history.
- Help keep the department clean, safe, and orderly ; that includes procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Work in a constant state of alertness.
- Handle other duties as they come up.
What You Need
Education: Completion of a Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy program.
Experience: None required. They'll train the right person.
Certifications & Licenses
You'll need the following, which vary a bit depending on your state. For Oklahoma City, OK, here's what's required:
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- One of these: ARRT R Radiography, ARRT T Radiation Therapy, ARRT N Nuclear Medicine Technologist, or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from the NMTCB
- And either ARRT CT Computed Tomography or a Computed Tomography (CT) credential from the NMTCB
- If Oklahoma City, OK is Illinois, you'll also need a Radiologic Technologist license or temporary accreditation from IEMA.
- If Oklahoma City, OK is Wisconsin, you'll need a Radiographer license from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
- If Oklahoma City, OK is Missouri or Oklahoma, no additional state license is listed beyond the above.
