What You’ll Do as a Floor Technician

This role is all about keeping floors in top shape ; hard surfaces, carpets, upholstery, you name it. You’ll handle the full range of floor care: stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, spray buffing. For carpets and upholstery that means shampooing, extractions, damp surface cleaning, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.

You’ll operate industrial floor care equipment to clean large floor areas. And you’re responsible for maintenance and restorative processes on every floor surface type you encounter.

Beyond floors, there’s waste processing. You’ll handle municipal solid waste (MSW), infectious waste, and pharmaceutical waste ; including rendering infectious waste as MSW. Removing trash, recyclables, soiled linen, used supplies and equipment from your work area is part of it too. You’ll also disinfect receptacles and carts when needed.

Customer service matters here. Maintain a friendly and positive attitude toward customers, clients, and coworkers. Anticipate what people need and respond to it.

Safety & Standards

You follow Aramark safety standards to the letter. Sanitation rules don't bend either ; you follow infection control standards set by accredited local agencies. Appearance standards are part of it: wear the required uniform at all times along with any personal protective equipment (PPE).

What You Bring to This Job

Previous experience as a floor care technician or in a related role ; this is preferred but not mandatory if you have the right chops
Knowledge of floor care equipment and how to use it
Able to read and write well enough for clear communication with others
Able to do simple math calculations when needed
The physical demands aren't minor: lifting, bending, pushing pulling plus extended walking or standing are regular parts of the day
